The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.
This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It’s her future she’s worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare that she’s being forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion.

— Put me in charge of food stamps.
I’d get rid of cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50kg bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
— Put me in charge of Medicare.
The first thing I’d do is to get women on Norplant birth control implants or a tubal ligation. Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine and document all tattoos and piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and piercings, then get a job.
— Put me in charge of government housing.
Ever live in military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your “home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.
— In addition,
you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a “government” job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good.”
Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary.
If you want our money, accept our rules.
Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin their “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices.
The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

while you are on Government subsistence, you can no longer VOTE! Yes that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Government welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

First of all to, degrade and trash the poor, homeless, middle class, veterans and the elderly of whom are on welfare is to side, with the Rich, Wealthy, high end Corporations and Oil companies of whom are actually utilizing wasteful spending through, “Corporate Tax Subsidies” (tax payer funded) is, the ignorance blinded by individual(s) stupidity to think, we’re wasting funding created to rejuvenate and restore the struggling the poor, homeless, veterans, the elderly and middle class Americans.
Cost to tax payers for Welfare = less than $39B annually
Cost to tax payers for Corporate Welfare = $83B+ annually
Don’t be fooled what common main street Welfare cost opposed to Corporate Welfare. This is where our Bureaucrats needs to change. Call it what you want but, it is what it is.

Any and All welfare(tax-payer funded sustenance), to individuals should have strings attached. (ie) Lose your right to vote, be subject to drug tests, search, seizure, and scrutiny necessary to confirm or deny eligibility to receive said benefits.
As for “Corporate” Welfare, the term is erroneous. However, the “tax incentives” should be removed in their entirety. A set specific% (non-changeable), business tax should be set, so businesses large and small can set long term goals without worrying about legislation creating uncertainty. This would keep the Politian’s from lining their pockets and remove their incentives for corruption.
I don’t like ignorance regarding the poor statement you made. Keep in mind, “Human Nature” Most of the poor are poor of their own choosing. Freedom is a blessing, but see how some use their freedom? Three-fifths to two-thirds of the federal budget consists of taking property from one American and giving it to another. Were a private person to do the same thing, we’d call it theft. When government does it, we euphemistically call it income redistribution, but that’s exactly what thieves do — redistribute income. People who denounce the free market and voluntary exchange, and are for control and coercion, believe they have more intelligence and superior wisdom to the masses. What’s more, they believe they’ve been ordained to forcibly impose that wisdom on the rest of us. Of course, they have what they consider good reasons for doing so, but every tyrant that has ever existed has had what he believed were good reasons for restricting the liberty of others. What’s just, has been debated for centuries, but let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well, then, tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you – and why? Here’s a roadmap out of poverty: Complete high school; get a job, any kind of a job; get married before having children; and be a law-abiding citizen. Among both black and white Americans so described, the poverty rate is in the single digits.

I did not see this as siding with Corporations. Corporations were not mentioned. However, I got that the welfare system is far too benevolent and I have seen it first hand. When people can survive and live well on welfare for decades then there is something wrong. Welfare should be a stop gap measure for those who can work and any hardship experienced while on welfare should be an incentive for the return to work. Anything else is just plain wrong. It is Corporations that employ people who pay taxes that allow the Government to provide welfare. It is our duty to ensure that Government manages this properly and that there is welfare for those that are in genuine need.
